Coaches run every lane

Mobile axe throwing
A trailer-mounted, coached axe throwing range that rolls up to your picnic site, runs itself all afternoon, and sends every employee home with a first-throw story.
How it works
Most company picnic ideas in Richmond quietly hand the organizer a second job — you book the activity, then you spend the day running it. Mobile Axe is the opposite. The trailer arrives with its own coaches, targets, axes, and safety oversight. Your people line up, our staff teaches every thrower, and you finally get to attend the picnic you planned.

We bring setup, supervision, games, and teardown. You point us at a patch of grass or parking lot, and the range takes care of itself.
Fully insured, with a COI available on request — usually the first thing your facilities team or venue asks about.
Guest flow
Two coached lanes need roughly a 30 by 20 foot area — a corner of the parking lot or a stretch of lawn. Employees drift over in small groups between food and other activities, get a quick lesson, throw, and rotate out. That open-flow format is what makes axe throwing such effective corporate event entertainment in Richmond VA: nobody is locked to a schedule, first-timers stick throws with coaching, and the line keeps itself moving whether you have 50 people on site or several hundred. We confirm surface, access, and guest flow before the quote is locked.
Logistics
Working with a caterer, a picnic production company, or a venue's event staff? We slot in cleanly — load-in, placement, and timing get confirmed in advance, and once lanes open we stay self-contained. Driveways, parking lots, backyards, fields, and courtyards all work. We're family-owned, based in Richmond, and we bring the range anywhere in Virginia, so a picnic site in Henrico or Chesterfield is the same trip. Planning a team-building day or office outing instead of a picnic? Our corporate events in Richmond page covers that format.
Pricing
Final pricing depends on date, location, hours on site, and headcount. Smaller employee appreciation event ideas work here too: groups of about 15 or fewer start at $350 for roughly two hours. Send your details through the form below or request a date directly — quotes come back within 24 hours, and a deposit holds your date. Prefer to talk it through? FAQ
That is the normal case. Coaching is the whole product — our staff gets first-timers sticking throws, and the experience works for all experience levels.
It's great for teens and adults, and coaches tailor the experience to your group. Tell us who's coming and we'll plan the format around them.
